DANCING ON ONE LEG | Paul Castro

Maputo, the capital of Mozambique in Southeast Africa, is a city emerging from the difficulties of its past into the uncertainties of its future. On every street corner is an intimation of its hopes and fears, dreams and shortcomings, flashing into view as one passes before flitting back into the whorl of the everyday. According to a Mozambican proverb you can’t dance well on one leg, but that doesn’t stop this city trying. (Photo: Paul Castro)
