Svetlana Kotina: photographer, curator of photo exhibitions, and producer of art events.
I studied art theory, photography, photojournalism, and art management in Saint Petersburg, where I was born. From 2011 to the present, I have participated in group exhibitions as a photographer and have also organized photo exhibitions for other talented photographers as a curator. I lived in the United Kingdom, where I worked with archival photos, now I live in Israel. In 2024, I was granted the status of an outstanding artist by the Israeli government. My portfolio includes photographs from around the world: Austria, Finland, Russia, Belorus, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Estonia, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal. In 2024 I’ve participated in four group photo exhibitions in UK (London, Stowmarket Suffolk, Redcar North Yorkshire, Bristol)
I love the documentary art photography genre. For me, this genre is the most valuable: the artist integrates photography into life, he remembers pieces of life with the help of digital. I have problems with my memory and photography is a visual dotted line for me, with the help of which I believe in what is happening and remember what happened. I try not to romanticize life in my photos too much, but also not to make it sharply realistic. My documentary art is road movie of life along the road of growing up, youth, maturity. The next stop is the midlife crisis, and I hope that with the help of photography and documentary art I will live through it easily.
